Ceccato Motorcycles Pietro Ceccato was a man of many talents - doctor, musician, motorcycle racer and an excellent businessman. The Ceccato factory in Montecchio Maggiore was established in the mid-30's, and built the first motorised bicycle, the Romeo with a 38cc engine shortly after the war, followed in 1948 by a machine with a 48c engine.

1948 - 1963 Ceccato' s first company location was in Montecchio Maggiore ( Vicenza) and then moved to Alte Ceccato ( Vicenza) that the end of the forties the beginning of the fifties the Romeo moped, first equipped with a 38 cc engine, then with a 48 cc. The cylinder engine has reversed, with the transfer roller on the rear wheel.

Soon both got company of a 100, 125, and later on a 175 cc version. All models were tested at Ceccato's own testing track and the first models were mostly sold to their own workers.
